Supreme Court orders Commission to audit debts written off by banks
The Supreme Court of Pakistan Monday directed the State Bank to publish its suggestions regarding the constitution of a audit commission for examining the cases pertaining to bank loans written off since 1997. A two-member bench of the apex court, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Ghulam Rabbbani, was hearing a suo motu case of over Rs.256 billion that has been waived.
